Learning and Teaching in the Footsteps of Ignatius of Loyola

January 18, 2020 from 9 am to 3 pm

Saint Ignatius of Loyola explained his experience by saying that God taught him as one teaches a school child, and Ignatius taught his own disciples to teach others as they had themselves be taught by God. At the same time, Ignatius’s own pedagogy emphasizes that all a Jesuit, or any teacher, can truly be in a Christian sense is a teacher’s aide, since Jesus himself declares “they shall all be taught by God” (Jn 6:45; cf. Is 54:13).

Join us for this Saturday workshop in which we will reflect on the ways that God teaches us and the way that we are called to share with others what God has given us. Teachers and catechists can benefit especially from this reflection on divine pedagogy, but the course can also be of great use to students, parents, and anyone who accompanies others.
